With its new branding, and David Smith’s new job title, the public face of industry body IMRG goes from strength to strength. Responding to the internationalisation of UK ecommerce, as well as trends such as the growth in online sales of multichannel retailers, Smith helps IMRG stay relevant to its retailer members.
The organisation is expanding the data sets that it produces and Smith has to communicate the benefits to retailers of them sharing their information to help IMRG create meaningful statistics. He regularly speaks at industry conferences, and there are few others on this list that he doesn’t personally know.
Smith has experience of working in the retail industry himself, having been involved in the development and launch of Sports Direct’s website in 2005.
