Head of online, H&M

H&M was the last of the big three fashion retailers to bring online shopping to the UK this year with Nordström heading up operations globally. Zara and Gap went live with their websites weeks before and while it is too early to judge the success of the sites, H&M’s definitely felt like the fullest offer at launch compared to its counterparts.

H&M is also very good at using the internet for creating a real buzz around its popular designer collaborations before launch. It showed teaser videos on its website and on YouTube before announcing the tie-up with French design house Lanvin coming out later this year. It will show the collection online before it goes on sale in its stores in what has been seen as a real coup for the Swedish fashion powerhouse.
