Online fashion giant Asos has launched its first digital marketing campaign for menswear, The Asos Urban Tour, to tie in with the autumn menswear collection.

The Urban Tour is actually a series of sleek videos embedded into a site made up of maps of fashion capitals including London, Paris and Tokyo.

Users can explore the maps and see clothes worn by street dancers, skaters and musicians. Asos has used state-of-the-art technology to make the videos completely interactive – users can explore the editorial content as well as see more details and catwalk style scenes of the products. They can then add them to a basket within the campaign site before being redirected back to the retailer’s website to checkout.

The videos themselves are entertaining, while they integrate the shopping experience seamlessly. Asos has effectively moved the shopping experience away from the main site and into an area that is far richer and more engaging for this part of its audience.
