The Retail Week eFashion blog - a place where people from the fashion retail ecosystem can break the news about the newest, coolest, most interesting things that they’re doing online.
A warm welcome to the Retail Week eFashion blog with Fits.me.
When we sat down with Retail Week to talk about this blog, we said: let’s make this the place where people from the fashion retail ecosystem, whether retailer or vendor, can break the news about the newest, coolest, most interesting things that they’re doing online, or are just thinking of doing. Not the totally hypothetical stuff – there’s other places for that – but stuff that’s real, even if it’s experimental. “Like Wired magazine for online fashion!” as one of my colleagues enthused.
Already we’ve seen reports about pop-up shops from Boden or heard about Very.co.uk running the world’s first festival delivery service – both of them catalogue retailers, and both finding ways to link the real world with the online world. Sure, some stuff we read about here may ultimately turn out to be PR - but other initiatives will be executed by smart people from forward-thinking retailers looking for ways to improve retail performance. This is the place to tell people about those clever things - the cool technology, the clever new analytics, the stuff that makes us nod and think ‘Smart!’ – that will surely help the proportion of clothing sold online rise from its present lowly 12%.
If this is you, if you have something going on that we can all learn from, ‘pre-news release’ or ‘breaking news’, tell the editorial team at Retail Week and perhaps we’ll see it here.
