The BT Retail Week Technology awards have now launched, and they’re a great way both to highlight your hard work this year and to help boost the profile of technology in retail.
The categories can be found on the website retailweektechnologyawards.com, alongside tips on entering and information on previous winners.
Retail innovation leaders including everyone from Tesco to Aurora have won in the past, and this year there are a handful of new categories to reflect this fast-changing industry.
Over the past year multichannel has truly come of age – everything from driving through grocery shopping to interactive window shops have hit the market. The Multichannel Project of the Year category is designed to find and celebrate the cleverest and most innovative ideas of the past 12 months.
Store Technology of the Year reflects a concurrent trend – the growing importance of technology in assisting the face-to-face sales process. From kiosks to iPads to electronic shelf labels, it’s now all found in stores and we want to find the most effective examples.
Another new category, Insight Solution of the Year, aims to find the industry’s best uses of data. Analytics got Amazon where it is today, and data is likely to be a core factor in determining the future direction of retail. We want this year’s most forward-thinking retailers to show us how they’ve used sources of insight to improve their offer.
Whatever you choose to enter, the awards, on June 19th, are always a great event for discovering new ideas and making new contacts. The deadline for entries is March 15th – we look forward to receiving them and seeing you on the night.
