Entertainment retailer Bol.com is using a data management platform to manage product information.

The retailer, based in the Netherlands, will use the STEP system, provided by Stibo Systems, to help them gather, manage and share product data across the information supply chain.

Stibo Systems UK business development director Richard Branchat said: “Bol.com will use the STEP web-based portal technology to streamline the process of on-boarding new supplier and product data, which will enable products to go on sale within a very short timeframe.  This will provide bol.com with a significant advantage over the competition.”

The online media store, offering DVDs, books and electronics, has 4.5 million products on the website and the system will support Bol.com’s growth in its catalogue of products.
