The ad focuses on a father who, while flipping through the Argos Christmas catalogue, sees that his daughter has circled a drum kit.
The retailer has named its Christmas catalogue ‘The Book of Dreams’ for 2019 and said the advert “delivers on this promise by making a father and daughter’s dreams come true”.
The full advert runs to nearly three minutes and features drum solos, a private gig and the first appearance of Cubby the Curious Bear – which Argos expects to be one of the most popular toys this year.
The ad also features the song Don’t You Forget About Me by Simple Minds.
The launch of the TV ad comes off the back of a social media campaign by Argos where celebrities, influencers and members of the public were “surprised with their own ‘Book of Dreams’ from when they were young”.
