The frequency of fashion items being purchased has dropped £600m in the 24 weeks to July 3, according to Kantar Worldpanel.
The total market decline has deepened to -3%. This continual slump is affecting the market year on year, as it moves further into decline (-0.7%).
Frequency losses continue, removing £600m from the market this period alone. Shopper losses have slightly worsened, declining at -0.8%.
Online continues to slow as shopper growth drops this period. Shopper gains contributed £44m to the channel, while last period new shoppers added £127m to online.
Full-price sales decrease further (-4.7%) owing to greater frequency losses of -6% this period, forcing retailers to rely further on discounts and squeezing sales margins in the run-up to the Sales period.
