The retail weather forecast from Saturday November 9 to Friday November 15, 2019

The week last year

Temperatures were generally warmer than normal. Rain fell across the North early, sunny for the rest.

The week this year

Retailers rejoice! Temperatures will fall below normal and well below last year for the whole week. We can expect highs in the middle and upper single digits for many, and there will be another chance for widespread frost in the mornings.

Precipitation will be heaviest versus last year and normal across eastern areas, and a few snowflakes may be tossed into the mix in higher hills as far south as the Midlands.

Mindset

Temperature comparables will be highly favourable for sales of early winter categories, and expect to see strong year-on-year increases for products such as heaters, outerwear, cold-weather accessories and boots.
