Retail weather: Temperatures falling and wet

The week last year

A very wet but also very warm week across Great Britain.

The week this year

Temperatures will finally slip to near or below normal, but more importantly below last year. The South East will be closer to last year than the rest of the country, but there will be days when temperatures in the area trend several degrees cooler than last year.

We can also expect more rainy conditions, especially in western coastal zones and across the Home Counties. 

Mindset

Temperature comparables will be much improved in driving demand for most autumn categories. Outerwear and boots should see a strong surge, as will comfort food and hot drinks.
