The retail weather forecast from Saturday January 11 to Friday January 17, 2020

The week last year

Warm and dry early followed by colder air bearing rain and even a bit of snow.

The week this year

We’ll not see too much of a change from late December’s weather as the UK is mostly under the influence of high pressure. Temperatures are expected to remain warmer than normal but close to last year early and warmer than lat year late.

A few showers may cross the North from time to time with more widespread rain expected for Tuesday. Other than that, the dominant high pressure will ensure that drier and sunnier weather will be the norm.

Mindset

Weather-driven demand for winter products remains slightly negative with the milder temperature comparisons, but Sale shopping is more of a driver this week. Nothing in the weather to disrupt footfall.
