Dior has opened the doors of its new summer pop-up at Harrods, London, in a continued partnership between the fashion house and the department store.
The “powerful, enduring relationship” between Dior and Harrods began in 1953 and the Dior said in a statement that the launch of its series of pop-up boutiques is “in honour of the friendship forged” with the department store since then.
Dior’s pop-up is set to run until August 27 and showcases its autumn/winter collection designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri across three individual spaces within Harrods that “present the house’s different realms”.
Customers can purchase a range of Dior’s new season footwear and accessories. The first part of the pop-up showcases “the sacred ties that unite Dior and the French capital”, mirroring a library inspired by the Plan de Paris motif that takes its inspiration from a scarf designed by Christian Dior in the 1950s.
Shoppers can expect to find streets and monuments of Paris across the floor and walls of the department store in a “subtle interplay of shading and perspectives”.
The second part of the pop-up incorporates an “ephemeral gift shop” that features a range of gifts including shirts, bags and scarves.
The third space is dedicated to its “irresistible leather goods” with a particular focus on the “bold innovation and classic heritage” of the Lady Dior and Lady D-Joy bags.
