Fashion retailer East will save £11,000 in print and postage costs through the store management system it has implemented.

The system, provided by Retail Answers, will allow compliance monitoring in all stores, the collection of data from stores using online forms and automatic integration with Microsoft Exchange. It will operate on the existing tills, the new tills and iPads in East’s stores as well as PCs in head office.

The web-based architecture means that it is simple to deploy across both head office and store networks with the minimum of overhead costs.

East project manager Kuljit Kahlon said: “Rapid is a leap forward for store communication and the method that information is accessed at EPOS. I believe will it will increase productivity levels throughout the estate.”

Head of IT at East head of IT Angus Stewart said the deployment on iPads will further reduce its dependence on printed materials.
