John Lewis’ private label collection John Lewis & Co previewed its ‘The Collector’ range at the British Fashion Council event, which runs from Friday until tomorrow.
The 90-piece collection features outerwear, waistcoats, casualwear and summerwear. Prices range from £18 for a crew T-shirt to £399 for a limited edition Made in England outerwear piece.
John Lewis buying and brand director Peter Ruis said: “Today was the perfect opportunity for John Lewis to bring what is arguably the strongest menswear collection on the high street to the international menswear fashion arena.”
The model line-up was led by the current face of John Lewis & Co, Johnny Harrington.
John Lewis director of buying Matthew McCormack said: “Our vision for menswear is to focus on our customers’ lifestyle needs and mindset. What’s key to our current male shopper is quality, fabrication and provenance – all of which John Lewis & Co delivers.”
John Lewis has been looking to grow its fashion credentials in recent years. Since the launch of John Lewis & Co in 2011 the label has been “pivotal” in changing the perceptions of the retailer’s menswear offer. Sales of the current collection surged 60% year-on-year, while it has helped drive sales across the menswear category up 30%.
