Marks & Spencer’s autumn range, which is viewed as critical in transforming the retailer’s under-pressure clothing business, has officially hit the shops today.
It is Marks & Spencer’s first range under fashion boss Belinda Earl, who was hired to transform the retailer’s clothing arm, which has suffered several quarters of like-for-like decline.
Chief executive Marc Bolland is under pressure from shareholders to show a marked improvement with this range, so customer reaction is key. The second phase of the autumn launch will hit stores in August, and the full range will be available from early September.
M&S said the new collection has been designed and made with a restated commitment to “quality and style”.
The retailer has re-launched its core clothing range as M&S Collection to offer customers a “considered edit of stylish wardrobe staples”.
Sleeves are a key feature of the new lines, which is on the back of customer feedback.
The pictures were taken at Marks & Spencer’s flagship Marble Arch store this morning.
