Zara has launched a new concept store in Bluewater shopping centre, double the size of its previous store.

The new store draws inspiration from and shares its design with Zara’s other flagship stores in Barcelona and Dubai.

It is specifically designed to integrate Zara’s online and in-store offerings, featuring an automated collection point where customers can pick up online orders using QR codes or PINs provided at the time of ordering online.

Zara has also included self-service tills and dedicated refund tills to ensure the shopping experience is as seamless as possible.

The 37,000 sq ft store showcases the brand’s full ranges for men, women and children over two floors, as well as a mezzanine level for Zara Home.

It also features a dedicated personal shopping space to give customers unique experiences in store.

To create the space, Bluewater owner Landsec combined a number of vacant units and built out over the shopping centre’s central service yard.

In keeping with Covid-19 regulations, the store uses a one-way system, hand sanitiser stations and socially distanced queuing.

Landsec portfolio director Rob Hardie said: “It is a testament to the strength and appeal of Bluewater to brands and consumers alike that Zara has chosen it as the debut location in the UK for its new global flagship concept.

“The store provides Bluewater’s guests with a genuine omnichannel experience that sets a precedent for the future of retail.”
