The campaign was directed by Golden Globe winner Michael Gracey, and focuses on Trevor the dinosaur living his dream of being a rockstar by performing 1970s rock band T-Rex’s massive hit 20th Century Boy on top of a Marshall speaker.
Trevor is soon awoken by his friend Connie the doll, who gifts him a Marshall speaker for Christmas.
The campaign consists of TV, press, out-of-home, and social, with TV adverts running from November 18.
It builds on the “There’s more to Argos” brand platform which launched last year, demonstrating the range of products the retailer offers.
Argos head of campaigns Laura Boothby said: “Our customers love Trevor the dinosaur and Connie the doll, so we’re thrilled they’re back again to spread some festive fun and magic in such an energetic and upbeat way.
“At Argos, whatever your loved ones are dreaming of this Christmas, we’ve got it covered. Whether it’s the latest and best in sound and tech, or the top toys of the season.”
Developed by The & Partnership (T&P), the film was animated by ETC, with music from David Kosten and sound by Munzie at Wave.
T&P Group creative directors Matt Moreland and Chris Clarke added: “We wanted to turn it up to 11 this Christmas and create something that really rocked. We’re delighted with how the campaign turned out. Big thanks to everyone who made it happen. Literal dream team.”
