At 18,500 sq ft the new concept store is twelve times bigger than the average Oxfam location and will sell clothes donated to the charity alongside ‘Sourced by Oxfam’ – a range of new ethically source homeware and gifts.
The new store has created eleven new jobs and several volunteering opportunities. The charity shop will also support Oxfam’s ‘Future Skills project’ – a volunteering, mentoring and training programme for women in the UK facing hurdles to building a better life.
Oxfam will double up as a community hub for people to work, volunteer, shop and donate. Customers can also visit the in-store café – housed in an old Oxfam water tank - and local groups and social enterprises are able to take advantage of dedicated meeting spaces.
