On the day the UK’s third largest grocer opened its second Asda Express store format, the retailer said it had plans to open 300 c-stores by 2026. 

With sales in convenience stores forecast to grow by 13% to more than £50bn by 2027, the retailer said the development of a c-store network is a “key part of Asda’s long-term growth strategy to become the UK’s second-largest supermarket”.
