Coronavirus has had a transformational effect on the UK grocery industry over the last two months or so. 

Grocery retailers have had to deal with stockpiling at the beginning of the pandemic – over a three-day period in mid-March UK customers made an additional 42 million supermarket trips – which has given way to social distancing and a return to the once-a-week big trolley shop as customers seek to avoid busy supermarkets.
