Tesco’s Metro stores in London Bridge and Islington show off the retailer’s current design thinking.
The London Bridge Tesco Metro, on Tooley Street, boasts its first Harris+Hoole coffee shop, which is a discrete, but attached entity, alongside a Euphorium Bakery, which treats food almost as fashion.
The retailer has also installed a strong food to go feature in both shops, using the ‘warming up’ wooden elements that have been a feature of Tesco refurbishments over the last year.
The new formats form part of group chief executive Philip Clarke’s plan to ‘Build a Better Tesco’ in the UK.
