Food to go giant Pret has launched a new shop format for customers “in a bit less of a rush”, offering a more spacious environment to enjoy made-to-order food and coffee

Pret is set to open two of the new formats in Broughty Ferry, Dundee and Maidenhead this month, with the new format differing from the chain’s more grab-and-go style shops common in its London heartlands.

The new stores have longer counters where customers can watch their food being made, more dine-in space and a Little Stars café play area for families.

The new formats also feature a revamped, exclusive menu including hot ciabattas, sourdough toasties, new breakfast items and a wider range of pastries and sweet treats.

The chain’s baristas will also serve new coffee blends, alongside the 100% organic Arabica coffee they sell nationwide.

The new format stores will be operated by Pret’s franchise partners Hala Group in Maidenhead, and Joup Group in Dundee.

Pret’s managing director for UK & Europe Clare Clough, said: “Now, we’re taking that further, making Pret a destination for customers in a bit less of a rush who want a comfortable space to enjoy delicious food and spend time with family and friends.”

Hala Group managing director Nicola Snowden added: “We are proud to partner with Pret to open this incredible new shop in Maidenhead, a first for the town and one designed with the local customer in mind.”
