Lush has opened its doors to an Asteroid City themed gift shop, inspired by Wes Anderson’s latest film.

The Lush X Asteroid City gift shop, located at Lush Studio in Soho, opened yesterday for five weeks and gives  customers access to themed products a week before their launch.

The health and beauty retailer said the pop-up in collaboration with Focus Features  is a “celebration of filmmaker Wes Anderson’s latest film Asteroid City”— a romantic comedy drama in which a junior stargazer convention, set in a small town in America in 1955, is spectacularly disrupted by world-changing events — and features a four-piece Lush collection: a themed bath bomb, soap, shower gel and jelly.

Inspired by the filmmaker’s iconic style, the gift shop includes a 1950s themed diner serving free slushies to customers.

Melody Morton, Lush concepts creative director, said: “The vibrant aesthetic of Wes Anderson’s Asteroid City really inspired us to create a fun, nostalgic range of products packed full of benefit-led ingredients like exfoliating sand and cooling aloe vera. We loved that we could bring back our Space Girl fragrance, as this is a fan favourite and it fits so well with the storytelling of the movie.

“We’re also excited to offer customers a real life experience in London and Vegas – where we have created retail spaces inspired by the movie. This is a very limited exclusive range that will only be available for a short period, however we will have our Vegas location selling this product exclusively for 12 months. It will be worth a visit.”
