As Brits are in the midst of a scorching summer with festivals, holidays abroad and staycations planned, many have been hitting the shops to pick up all the summer essentials.
Whether it’s finding a new SPF for the hotter days, or discovering that perfect primer to ensure your makeup lasts the entire day, UK customers are shopping across a variety of beauty products.
High street beauty chain Superdrug has looked at how the British public is shopping this summer using real shopping data from its 19 million users of its Health & Beautycard.
Unveiling the new campaign “#YouBeauty”, the retailer reveals the summer trends and most popular products across different cities across the UK.
Across the nation, there are plenty of beauty essentials being snapped up across Superdrug stores and websites.
Among the most popular is Elf Cosmetics power grip primer, Got2b freeze blasting spray, Superdrug own-brand vitamin E facial mist, and Vaseline’s cocoa radiant body oil.
Yet, Superdrug is able to look at each city across the UK, and found each one has its own identity with its own must-have products.

Superdrug chief operating officer Simon Comins said the new #YouBeauty campaign puts “customers and their shopping choices at the heart of the conversation” to find out how customers are using and enjoying certain products.
“What’s amazing is just how individual these beauty habits are. From bold brows in Liverpool to specialist suncare in Edinburgh, it’s clear that beauty in the UK isn’t one-size-fits-all, it’s personal, regional, and constantly evolving,” he continued.
“We’re proud to shine a light on the everyday icons and viral heroes that are really making an impact in people’s routines, and to celebrate the beauty of real choice.”
Superdrug will bring the campaign to life with events in Brighton’s Churchill Square, Liverpool One, and Edinburgh Princes Street stores to put a spotlight on each city’s top trending products in beauty.
Live events, influencer appearances and a new “unlock your beauty best-seller” game for customers to try their luck and potentially win a full-size beauty item.
With Superdrug posting a 7% sales increase and a profit before tax rise of 22.6% to £136.8m in the year to December 28 2024, these top products for summer may give another boost for the high street chain.
