Danish home accessories retailer Søstrene Grene has opened its first store inside the M25.
The retailer has been quietly expanding across the UK and Ireland, with this latest opening marking its 16th store in the region and its first in the capital.
The new location opened in mid-May at the Southside shopping centre in Wandsworth, London, with queueing crowds entertained by a string quartet.
Bringing the Danish concept of ‘hygge’ to the UK, Søstrene Grene specialises in affordable homewares, which arrive in monthly drops and seasonal collections.
The brand also sells a selection of partyware, hobby products, makeup and toys.
Søstrene Grene, which translates as ‘The Grene sisters’, operates a franchise model and has been a staple in its native Denmark since the 1970s.
It is now expanding throughout Europe with stores in France, Germany and the Netherlands.
