Sofa brand Loaf has selected Edinburgh for its ninth store – its first in Scotland and its largest location to date.
The Straiton Retail Park store displays sofas across an open-plan 9,100 sq ft site.
The store features a mezzanine with a mattress-testing area, a swatch station for collecting free fabric samples and a collection of other homewares including tableware and soft furnishings.
There is also 800 sq ft dedicated to homeware and accessories shoppers can take home that day, including home fragrance, tableware and socks.
The brand says its latest location, the Edinburgh Loaf Shack, is a “laid-back world” that allows shoppers to “kick back on their squish-machines and enjoy life in the slow lane”.
“A slowroom, not a showroom”, according to the brand, the store is kitted out with activities such as table football, retro arcade games and a colouring-in station to keep kids occupied while parents mull over fabric choices.
Loaf founder Charlie Marshall says: “It’s high time people in Scotland had a bit of Loaf on their doorstep so they can kick their shoes off in style.
“Our new Edinburgh Shack is packed full of our squishy sofas, beds, cabinetry, lighting and plenty of loafing supplies: all basic requirements for a happy life in the slow lane.”
