Bookseller Foyles has opened the doors of its Westfield Stratford City store, showcasing a design which celebrates books by using them within its structure.
Books have been used to build the till point in the 5,500 sq ft store. They are also shelved within the structural column located in the centre of the store, while book shelves are also built into the wall of the staircase.
Books also hang from the ceiling in the children’s section at the back of the store.
The two-floor store opens as its shop in One New Change shopping centre closed last month, as revealed by Retail Week.
Foyles now has six stores.
Head of marketing Miriam Robinson said: “We have really tried to incorporate the physical books into the store, which we have thought about doing for a while.
“All Foyles’ book shops are different and are moulded to fit their location. This store has a good mix of quirky and beautiful.”
Foyles has chosen its 70 bestselling titles to display at the front of the store for its Christmas campaign with selected titles price promoted.
A seating area is located upstairs to provide customers with an “oasis to the hectic shopping experience”, Robinson said.
