Lewis won the AlixPartners Outstanding Contribution to Retail Award for his work driving the turnaround of the UK’s biggest grocer Tesco.

Lewis has led the grocer for five-and-a-half years and was the first chief executive to be appointed from outside the business. He has taken Tesco from a trio of profit warnings in the months preceding his arrival and an accountancy scandal weeks into his tenure to a business that delivered a 6% rise in pre-tax profit to £494m in its interim results in October.
