UK headed for autumn job losses as third of businesses expect cuts

Around 33% of more than 2,000 businesses surveyed said they expect to make redundancies in the third quarter of this year, according to figures from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and Adecco Group, a staffing company.

The survey suggests that the UK is likely to experience a spike in job losses as the government’s coronavirus job retention furlough scheme is withdrawn.
