Chairman, Jaeger
In his role as British Fashion Council chairman, and owner of Jaeger, and more recently Aquascutum, the debonair Tillman continues to put British fashion on the map.
Something of a British institution, Aquascutum had lost its way in recent years, and Tillman is hoping to inject some magic into the brand, as he did with Jaeger. Working alongside chief executive Belinda Earl (83), he has successfully transformed Jaeger, and added sub-brands to extend its reach.
Often seen schmoozing at the very best parties, Tillman has been highly influential in promoting London fashion as a world leader. He has also been flying the flag
for ethical fashion and recently called for tax breaks for the ethical fashion industry.
Meanwhile at Jaeger, profits have improved in the past year while sales remained flat.
International expansion and its new Boutique by Jaeger range continue to be growth areas for the entrepreneur’s fashion stable.
