A good year for Paddy Ashdown lookalike Mayhew, who stepped down as chairman of Pets at Home after overseeing the sale of the business for a barnstorming £955m in January. The former John Lewis managing director remains chairman of the British Retail Consortium, which has had a successful year’s campaigning.
