The avuncular Harrods boss has come into his own since the company was sold by Mohamed Al Fayed to the Qatari royal family last year. He’s since appeared to have more freedom to run the business his way and has been increasingly outspoken on issues such as visas for wealthy Chinese visitors to the UK.
