Tesco has reopened the much-anticipated Extra store in Watford, which it is billing as a “brand new shopping and leisure destination”.
Tesco’s Watford Extra store is the first to house a Giraffe restaurant, and also includes a Euphorium bakery and Harris + Hoole coffee shop.
The remodelled shop also has a deli called City Kitchen, bakery area called The Bakery Project, new F&F clothing department, and new-format beauty department.
The new look store is part of chief executive Philip Clarke’s plans to put warmth into its big box stores and turn them into destinations for shopping and leisure. Alongside the new food concepts it will also have leisure offerings such as yoga and cookery classes.
Tesco Watford Extra reopened this week and will be officially unveiled on August 12.
