To help clear excess stock that could not be sold due to the coronavirus pandemic, Harrods has launched its first outlet store in Westfield London.

The new concept sells womenswear, menswear, beauty, accessories, childrenswear and home items, all curated from the Harrods Sale.

Conceived during the pandemic, the 80,000 sq ft, two-floor store has been created with two-metre social distancing in mind to allow shoppers a safer luxury experience. The store features specially designed changing rooms to allow for the highest level of sanitation too.

Harrods Outlet has more than 100 designer brands and 120,000 premium products across all categories, including Balmain, Stella McCartney and Tom Ford. Beauty brands include Gucci, Estée Lauder and Shiseido.

Customers will also enjoy weekly product drops of new-season must-haves in store to complement the Sale.

By separating the seasonal products, the flagship Knightsbridge store can also feature more new-season items with better distancing measures in place.

Harrods fashion director Lydia King said: “It’s important that our customers are treated to the renowned Harrods experience while shopping at Harrods Outlet and this comes from the strength of the edits available in the new concept store. We are known for providing the ultimate in luxury and the Outlet offering will be no different.”

Westfield London general manager Jacinta Rowsell said: “The highly anticipated launch of Harrods Outlet at Westfield London is causing quite a stir with our customers who will soon have the chance to experience a slice of the world-renowned Harrods store in west London.

“With brands that have never been available at the centre before, such as Stella McCartney, Chloé and Vetements, and weekly drops from Zimmermann, Missoni and more, there will be something for every luxury fashion and beauty shopper.”“

The Outlet is the latest of Harrods’ innovative concepts as it moves the business away from its department store roots, such as H Beauty in Lakeside shopping centre and The Residence personal shopping service in Shanghai, China.
