Poundland has announced that some of its branches will receive a makeover from this week, with 150 stores to be transformed by August.
The initiative, named ‘Project Evo’, will see the transformation of certain Poundland and Dealz shops into the “best and most up-to-date” stores.
The extent of the work undertaken will vary from store to store, but each one will offer extended ranges of key categories, such as chilled and frozen food, clothing, general merchandise and homewares from parent company Pepco.
The value retailer has been embarking on store transformations for the past few years and, once changes have been made to the 150 shops, Poundland will offer more baby and kids clothing than ever.
It’s also looking to add more third-party deals in its new elevated general merchandise offering.
Poundland director of property services Alan Smallman said the rollout will show off the extended ranges in a modern and bright environment that’s easy to shop, navigate and checkout.”
The first of the Project Evo refurbishments in Urmston, Keynsham, Darlington and Plymouth in England will be completed on February 17, as well as Dealz stores in Mullingar and Cavan in Ireland.
Poundland said it expects 42 stores to be transformed under the programme by Easter.
