In a bid to increase its reach beyond its large box stores, Ikea has opened its second order-and-collection point in Aberdeen, Scotland.
Swedish furniture retailer Ikea opened an order and collection point in Wellington Circle, Aberdeen on May 12.
The unit is roughly 4,400 sq m (47,363 sq ft) – a tenth of the size of a traditional big-box Ikea – and does not carry the full product range.
These smaller-format units act primarily as studios to plan purchases such as kitchens, wardrobes and sofas. Customers are given advice on-site and are able to order from the online range either for home delivery or for collection at the premises.
Approximately 100 of Ikea’s markethall items are available for customers to buy and take home on the day.
