Fashion powerhouse Zara has opened an extended branch in London’s Westfield Stratford City, which includes an automated collection point operated by a robotic arm among its new technology features, as the retailer seeks to create an ever more seamless omnichannel experience.
The new Zara store includes an additional third floor below the original shop and measures approximately 57,000 sq ft, making it one of the Inditex-owned retailer’s biggest branches in the UK.
There are two online collection points, which between them can handle up to 2,900 orders, and dedicated returns checkouts as well as automated returns, pay-and-go payment by scanning, a repair station and a clothes donation point.
Customers can use the retailer’s app to check for products in-store and reserve fitting rooms.
The store also incorporates Zara Beauty and Athleticz activewear boutiques.
Similar to the retailer’s Battersea Power Station branch, the store represents the retailer’s latest thinking around larger stores.
