The top talent in UK retail supply chain gathered at the Hermes Retail Week Supply Chain Awards 2015 in London last night.

Argos won the overall Hermes Grand Prix accolade for its hub and spoke supply chain transformation programme, which involved overhauling its fulfilment offer to fit with digital consumers’ expectations. The judges praised Argos’ entire step change in its proposition.

A special judges award went to Travis Perkins, in association with the Cranfield School of Management, for the Investment In Supply Chain Professionals award. The retailer was recognised for its introduction of a training programme that has had “immeasurable impact on its talented teams” and that is keeping its business at the forefront of supply chain innovation.

Michael Thomas from Dixons Carphone picked up the MIQ Logistics award for the Supply Chain Rising Star of the Year. The judges said Michael epitomises the skills needed to implement change as the profile of the sector continues to rise.

All of the winners, which included Tesco, Phase Eight, Maplin, 02 and Wickes were singled out for the creativity and innovative thinking.
