Brits love an unexpected product collaboration. From Greggs and Primark to Ikea and Off-White, nothing gets shoppers quite as excited as when two brands they love come together to make retail magic.
But there’s been a bit of a collaboration drought of late, so we asked ChatGPT to come up with some new retail partnerships and ran the responses through AI image generator Midjourney to see what they might look like.
Dunelm x Pets at Home

ChatGPT said the tie-ups between Dunelm and Pets at Home could easily span multiple categories. According to the AI, the partnership could introduce a raft of products that are both functional as well as being aesthetically pleasing.
It suggested a range of sofas, rugs, curtains and soft furnishings designed with the realities of pet ownership in mind: with stain- and fur-resistant fabric that’s easy to clean, as well as being tough enough to stand up to the occasional clawing.

Drawing on the popularity of pet clothing and accessories, it suggested carrying some homeware designs through to pet collars, beds and bowls – so owners can have their pets (and their accessories) match their interior decor scheme or even their tableware.
Boots x Sweaty Betty

ChatGPT identified a gap in the market for fitness-focused skincare and beauty products, which it suggested could be filled with a product collaboration from Boots and Sweaty Betty.

It said the popular activewear retailer could team up with Boots to produce a collection of beauty and wellness products aimed at gym bunnies, like skincare designed for active individuals, sweat-resistant makeup and post-workout recovery essentials that cater to the needs and wants of health-conscious consumers.
B&Q x Emma Bridgewater

This collaboration could “blend B&Q’s expertise in home improvement with Emma Bridgewater’s distinctive and charming ceramics”, according to the AI.
It suggested a country kitchen design inspired by Bridgewater’s iconic colour scheme of rich cream, burgundy, pastel blue and sage, of course built with plenty of space to store decorative ceramics.

To set off the kitchen, the pairing could introduce other home design accessories like tiles, curtains and flooring, featuring Bridgewater’s best-loved dot, star and heart prints.
