Marks & Spencer is hosting a series of pop-up virtual reality ‘hacks’ to mark the launch of its new Loft homewares range.

The hacks, which kicked off this week, give customers the chance to see items from the new range using a virtual reality headset.

M&S has opted against using a traditional showroom to launch the line and is instead holding events in “unexpected locations”.

Consumers wearing the virtual reality headsets, which use Oculus Rift and Leap Motion technology, will be able to drag and drop virtual homewares items into their ideal living space.

Shoppers can then share their designs via email or social media and the range is available to purchase on Marksandspencer.com.

The hacks, which were developed in partnership with media agency Mindshare, have already been held at London Waterloo train station and will visit Trinity Leeds on Saturday September 19 between 9am and 8pm.

The final hack will take place at London’s Spitalfields Market from 10am to 7pm on Saturday September 26.
