The start-up’s plug-and-play technology allows shoppers to share items they are considering buying with friends via Whatsapp, text message or Facebook Messenger without leaving the retail website.

Users can send carousels of product shots and full product descriptions directly to their friends, which they can view directly in their online chats.

The start-up’s technology identifies shoppers browsing online that are unlikely to make a purchase and sends targeted messages, allowing them to share the item in question with their contacts.

What problem it solves

Askourt is designed to monopolise on the rising popularity of mobile and social commerce for online retailers by allowing shoppers to share prospective purchases with friends directly through their websites.

Chief executive Tomer Limoey says: “While in physical stores a customer can rely on feedback from store assistants and friends, the online shopping process provides the customer a solitary and less fun experience, with no immediate feedback.

“Our technology has created a solution for mobile shopping that uses instant messages in order to bring customers who would otherwise leave the online store back to the shopping track using a friend’s feedback notification.”
