Creative kitchenware retailer Lakeland has launched a mobile-optimised version of its website to capitalise on the rise in m-commerce over the last year.

The site is designed to complement the desktop version and therefore offers the same functionality. This includes a comprehensive search that is simple to navigate and allows the user to refine the results using a number of filters.

As well as a mobile-optimised checkout process the site offers a shared basket with the desktop website. Customers can browse, search and add items, and then visit the desktop site and complete the checkout, an appealing option to some internet users who may need the extra reassurance that a desktop site provides.

For retailers such as Lakeland, highly regarded for their excellent customer service, it’s imperative that these high standards are kept up across all channels. Lakeland hasn’t rushed to put out a mobile site, it has taken its time and delivered an excellent product in line with customer’s expectations.

The site was launched with the help of Lakeland’s implementation partner, Javelin Group.
