John Lewis has described its last week of trading as “absolutely morale boosting” and said this week has continued the growing sales momentum in the run up to Christmas.
John Lewis director of selling operations Nat Wakely told Retail Week that while the retailer won’t meet the record figures it recorded last year, a low single digit decrease in sales at would make the retailer “very happy” this Christmas.

In the week to Saturday, John Lewis said sales improved 20 per cent week-on-week to record a 6.7 per cent decline on the same period year.
