The inside view from head of operations Mark Dennis

How do you strive to retain your staff?

By trying to make sure they enjoy their job and being with colleagues. We work hard to keep everyone informed of what is going on within the business, and pride ourselves on our open, honest approach. There are various training schemes to help staff develop within existing roles or new roles within the company - we would rather recruit from within the business whenever possible.

How do you ensure your employees have a good work/life balance?

By being flexible and understanding. We’re happy for staff to work from home, to take time out to go to school sports days and so on as long as they deliver a great product or service. We have many part-time employees within our retail business as many have families or choose to work flexibly, but they still want a rewarding job and to feel like they are making a difference.
