The inside view from White Stuff HR director Victoria Hodges

What makes the ideal White Stuff employee?

“The one thing they must be is hugely passionate about our brand and being part of our family, and want to make a difference.”

What is the White Stuff ethos? “We have a relaxed and informal culture so the ‘stuff’ in White Stuff is definitely not stuffy. We even have an open door policy for pets. Our ethos is not only about our family but also about the community we live in. All of our shops have a local charity they support.”

As a workplace, what sets you apart from your rivals? “We want people to think they’re getting up in the morning to come to their ‘work home’ rather than ‘workplace’. Our offices have a garden, themed meeting rooms and a therapy room.”

How do you strive to retain your staff? “We ensure we recruit the right person to the right role and induct them in the White Stuff way. We also offer training and development opportunities during their career with us.’
