Businesses to be demerged in August
WHSmith's shareholders have approved the separation of WHSmith Retail and WHSmith News.

The demerger of the retail business and the news and magazine wholesaling business is expected to become effective on August 31.

The companies will be listed as WHSmith Plc and Smiths News Plc.
