B&Q (Overview)
DIY retailer B&Q is the market leader for home improvement in the UK, with upwards of 300 stores and 16,000 employees. Surging demand for home improvement products throughout the pandemic saw B&Q’s sales climb to a high of £4,178m by FY2021, although revenues declined 8.2% to £3,835m in the year to end January 2023 (FY2022), with like-for-like sales down 8.8% on the previous year “against very strong prior year comparatives”.
